We are part of society. It’s created little by little by each one of us, and so maybe relying on it to get some help in harder times is not a bad idea. When one is struggling, we tend to forget that we can rely on other people as well. Dealing with all of it alone does not make you stronger or brave. One person by themselves does not have to carry the whole world alone, one does not have to carry the sole weight of a problem alone.
And so we, as humanity, share. We share food, we share love, we share love, we share clothes and we also share problems. Taking help from the community, from the people that you belong to, to overcome something is called social coping.
When we’re being bothered by something, it’s easy to think that one person alone can solve it, but when you actually get out and tell someone you love what has been bothering you, the warmth and empathy that you receive might be surprising. We overlook the power of community. To be vulnerable, to let your walls down and just let someone in and help, can feel so relieving.
Maybe you are suffering from loss. Talking it out to another loved one will make you feel safer, they might tell you that they have had similar feelings when they were suffering with grief. You will realize others like yourself have also had similar emotions, and all love is not lost. Talking to someone not only helps deal with emotions and clear things out in your own head but also strengthens the bond amongst people.
Sometimes we are so afraid of vulnerability that we rarely look at the beauty of it. Social groups and support groups where people talk about their innermost turmoils, is such a magical exchange of experiences. To bring forth and accept yourself. Talking about your issues to a community, a group of people, or just anybody other than yourself will make you feel understood. It helps us see that we, together as humanity, are an amalgamation of beautiful complex beings, and whatever it is that you’re going through is going to be okay. Whatever it is that you are is okay.
We at Karvi help with trying to make things okay for you, to ease your emotions, and to cope with them.
